Teaching & Mentorship
Teaching and mentorship have been integral parts of my professional journey, allowing me to share my expertise in hydrology and environmental engineering with the next generation of engineers and researchers. At East Carolina University, I had the opportunity to teach the course "Engineering Surface Water Hydrology," where I introduced students to the complexities of hydrological processes and water resource management. My approach in the classroom emphasizes interactive learning and real-world applications, helping students grasp the practical implications of theoretical concepts. In addition to teaching, I served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the "Engineering Groundwater Hydrology" course, guiding students through hands-on research experiences. I co-mentored undergraduate researchers as part of the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program, focusing on hydrological modeling projects. My mentorship extends beyond the classroom, as I actively engage with students in research discussions, encouraging them to explore innovative solutions for water quality and sustainability. Through these experiences, I aim to inspire and equip future environmental engineers with the knowledge and skills needed to address complex water resource challenges.
